Mrs Newton entertained members ol ihe Presbyterian Church Ladies' Guild at her home last Wednesday afternoon. Then l was a splendid attendance and a most enjoyable time was spent by all. Two novel competitions caused great merriment, and a song by Mrs Downes and a pianoforte selection by Miss Spoirs were very much appreciated. MacDonald paid a visit and presided. The minutes of the July meeting and the annual report and balance-sheet were read and confirmed and the officers were re-elected. Mr Ale Donald on behalf of the management committee warmly thanked the Guild for the great, assistance given to the Church. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the hostess for the enjoyable. afternoon.
