THE NEW RAILWAY TARIFF.
PROBABLY TO OPERATE NENT WEEK. The prediction by the Minister ■if Railway* (Hon. .1. 0. Ponies) ih,-it the new railway tariff would he in operation about the first week in Angus! seems likely to be lullfiled (says the Dominion). The Minister stilted yesterday that the 1 {nilwaV Board hail nearly completed its work on the larill. which would he in the hands of Cabinet this week for final review and would probably be operative next week.
It is understood that as soon as tin' printed tarilT ha.s been issued to all railway officers concerned, copies will be printed for sale to the general public. This will be a boon to commercial people, for no complete revision has been issued for many years, and the old tariff with its hundreds of amendments is almost beyond the understanding of iiuvone hut a railwav official.
