METHODIST CHURCH
A mission of inspiration and appeal was eommvneed in the Methodist Church on Sunday, the missionor being the Rev. Arthur Mitehell, •‘the singing padre.” Air Mitchell is not only a convincing preacher, hut a' singer of Dominion-wide reputation, and further than that, manv a “Digger" listened to him in Flanders and was grateful for the song. In the morning the subject taken for consideration was the re-
sponsibility resting upon each individual Christian for the extension of Christ's Kingdom, and the hearers were appealed to for persona! roiisci-ra t ion.
The evening subject was the “Unpardonable Sin," which was shown to he an altitude, not an act; a state, not a statement. The only unpardonable sin is the sin that refuses the pardon that is available fur all sin. Several personal narratives were given of those who feared that they had committed this sin —their wry fear showing clearly that . t hev had not done so.
In addition to hearty congregational singing, in which the choir \ery materially assisted, Air Alitchell sang at the morning service ihe solo, "In the Garden,” which he v, ill repent by request on Wednesday evening. At the night service the song with which Gipsy Smith has been stirring London was sung, entitled. "Wonderful Jesus.” The mission was continued last night, when Air Mitchell sang “Out of the Lory Palaces" and “Would You Believe?" Ilis subject was "Room til the Front." The meeting was preceded by a very enjoyable song service. The mission will be continued tonight and Wednesday, which will be the final night of the mission. The meetings commence at half-past seven, with a song service, and are lice to all. The subject to-night will be "Living at the Back."
