ALLEGED LIBEL
£20,000 DAMAGES CLAIMED. Dannevirke, July 15. A writ has been filed in the Supreme Court, at Wellington h.v Mr E. Gibbard, solicitor, Dannevirke, acting on behalf of Alice Maud Ward, against, the publisher and managing editor of “New Zealand Truth,” Wellington, claiming £IO,OOO damages from each for alleged libel in respect to an article which appeared on February 2nd, 10tM, reporting an action in the Dannevirke Magistrate’s Court, in which the plaintiff was one of the litigants in the case. It is expected that the ease will be heard during the coming sessions of the Supreme Court at Wellington.
