SHANNON BRIDGE.
PETITION TO PARLIAMENT. Wellington, July 10. “(Shannon bridge is ;not in a good position and is likely to be swept away by flood.” That is the statement contained in a petition presented to Parliament and a large number of residens ask that the bridge, which spans the Manawatu river between Shannon and Foxton, shoiild receive the attention of the House. Portion of the bridge was destroyed by flood waters in Nevember last and the span has not been replaced.
