In to-day- issue the Railway Department advertise alterations in the timetable on Manawatu line from Monday next. The usual 1.20 p.m. Palmerston North-AYellington train will lie discontinued south of Paekakariki. The 3.48 p.m. Palmerston North-Wellington train will be accelerated and will in future leave Palmerston at 3.-15 p.m. arriving in Wellington at 7.13 instead of 7.45 p.m. Passengers at stations on the Manawatu line not served bv express trains will in future be able to leave at a later hour and arrive in Wellington by this train in lime for city theatres, if so desired or make the connection with the south bound Lyttelton terry service.
