A Swedish engineer lias been awarded a gold medal in recognition oil a clever invention tor storing surplus steam. The number of vessels launched at Clyde shipyards in the first three months of 1925 was 51, representing 111,708 tons. The steel from two scrapped American warships has been used in tunnel construction for a California power scheme. In the month of March 112 tons of fish were condemned at Billingsgate compared with 74 tons for the same month last year. A Holstein cow. ownedby an American University has produced 20, 995 pounds of milk in one year. She weighs over 2000 pounds. An alarm of lire was given when what appeared to be light clouds of smoke were seen ascending from the tower of a church at Plon, Germany. When the fire brigade arrived it was discovered that the clouds were not smoke, but a gigantic swarm of flies which had drifted high up over the church tower. ;
