Some alarm was caused in Levin on nionday evening by the discharge of a gun while it was being handled in a local restaurant (says the Chronicle. Fortunatley no one was in the line of fire at the time, the charge passing through the roof. It is understood that the occurrence was entirely accidental, the fact that the gun was loaded not having been noted. The matter of inquiry by the police was the subject.
