HEAVY FINES INFLICTED. Auckland, June 27. At the Police Court to-day, Samuel Levin, a Frenchman, was fined £IOO on each of three charges of having erroneously certified to a Customs officer that goods, valued a.t about £2OO, were of British origin, whereas they were French. He was convicted and ordered to pay the costs on two other similar charges.
