SEQUEL TO REFUSAL TO WORK OVERTIME. Gisborne, June 10. As a sequel to the alleged refusal of butchers employed at the Tokoniaru Bay freezing works on Februarv 28 to work overtime unless paid double rates, sixteen men were charged this morning at Tokoma.ru Bay with participating in a strike. The Inspector of Factories claimed a £3 penalty from each. The inspector deposed to clean up a mob of sheep, but they declined to do so unless paid double time, the award specifying time and a-half. The sheep had to be sent back to the station. The hearing is proceeding.
