WEEKLY MEETING.

A meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union was held at Levin on Tuesday evening. Hr J. W. Eiinmev occpuying the chair. Also present: Messrs Procter, Anderson, Dalzell, Ro'hinson, Austin, McMillan, Robertshnw, Hutehins, and the secretary (Mr L. Carmichael). Mr. R. Sloan represented the Referees’ Association. The Mayor (Mr T. Hobson) wrote acknowledging the receipt of a double complimentary ticket, and forwarded a donation of £.l Is. — Received with thanks. The Porouta whan, Te Horn, Poxton and Arapeti, Paraparaunm, and Moutoa schools acknowledged receipt of footballs front the UnionReceived. The Levin Park Domain Board granted the use of the Domain on a basis of 15 per cent, of gate money and 50 per cent, of grandstand. The Bush Union wrote granting the 17th .June as the date for a match for the Beddington Shield. The question of the number of rounds which tlie Fourth tirade should play, was discussed, it being decided that these should be four, >o that borne and home matehes might be held right through. It was reported that a Weraroa Fourth (trade player, Moses, was over age, and it was decided that therefore the game against Levin D.IT.S. should be replayed should it affect the championship. It was decided further that till Fourth Grade teams attention he drawn to the age limit, so that, a firm stand might be taken should another case come before the Union. A protest against the awarding of the Awahou-Moutoa match to Moutoa was received from the Awahou Club, on the grounds that a second free kick had been awarded to Moutoa because the ball had touched an Awahou man in 'its flight, through this man jumping up to intercept it. The second kick bad been converted, and Awahou had therefore lost the game. Mr Sloan (Referres’ xYssociation representative) said that the ruling of the N.Z. Referees’ xYssociation was that a free kick was an unrestricted kick. The matter was referred to the Referees’ xYssociation for decision. The Miranui junior team protested against Foxton Splaying a man who was not a member of their team, he having played for Awahou on two Saturdays, and claimed the match in consequence. The match was awarded to Miranui. Accounts totalling £42 Os lOd were passed for payment.
