MAGISTRATE SPEAKS OUT. When ;i barman was lined tor selling liquor to a person under 21 years ol‘ age at tlie I'etone MagisIrate's Court yesterday (says the Dominion), the .Magistrate, Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., made, some • Prong eomments on the hal»it <>( vouths going into hotels for the purpose of obtaining liquor. “A vouth who brings about the movietion of a barman through liis own actions should not gel off sent, free/'’ said Hie Magistrate. “There should he some means of dealing with a youth who goes into an hotel and obtains a drink by standing behind others, in the hope that lhe barman will not notice his youth." Ilis Worship said he would allow witnesses’ expenses to the boy, but he felt very, reluctant to do so. The vouth should have kept out of the hotel.
