MURDER FOR SMALL SUM.
WIFE WITH TWO LOVERS. SENTENCED TO DEATH. Auckland, May 12. The story of a callous murder was told at (he criminal sessions at Suva. Two men, Ratu Naulu, a Fijian, and Sivraj, an Indian, were found guilty of the murder of an Indian copra cutter named Mungal, on the estate of Tarle Bros., of Vnna, Tavmiii. Both were sentenced to death. It, was the old story of the eternal triangle, a married man and his wife who had two lovers, Sivraj ami Mungal. Mungal was in the way, and had to he eliminated. With this object, i| was proved that Sivlaj import lined several Fijians to kill Mungal. Finally he employed Naulu, and after three weeks’ constant worry, induced him to kill Mungal for the munificent sum of eight shillings. The two men killed Mungal, and threw the body into a pit, and it was not found for a week. Alter being found the body was put hack in the pit, until while police came from Suva. By this time merely a skeleton remained, so that proper identification was impossible.
