CHARGE OF ASSAULT.
BROTHER COAIMITTED FOR TRIAL. Auckland, May 7. Tlic hearing of a charge of having assaulted his sister, Gertrude Best, in tipper ljuecn Street on the night of loth April, was continued in-day against Albert Edward Best, aged 2tS. Two alternative charges ,il assaulting her, and with wounding her with intent Lo do grievous buddy liana, were also preferred.
Chief-Detective Cummings prosecuted, ami Air Alan Moody appeared for the accused.
After ;i large amount of evidence iiad been given, accused pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial. Counsel did not press his request lor bail.
