FOOTBALL.
A meeting of Third grade players will be held in Stevenson’s garage on Monday night, at 7.30 o’clock, when a captain and vicecaptain will be elected. Don’t forget the general meeting on Tuesday night. It’s very important. The season proper commences on Saturday week. Players should commence training immediately. Everything points to the local Ciub having another successful season as far as players are concerned, a large number being available. The Juniors had a victory on Saturday last, but the margin was not as large as expected. Scott, Caughley and Fry, three new players here, shaped well for the first game. The old players are all up to old form, and this team should go well in the competitions. The Seniors have perhaps the strongest team that has so far been available. Of the Thirds and Fourths, no news is available, but it is expected to put in teams equally as good as ever.
