Local residents are reminded of tlie hockey club dance to be held in the Masonic Hall this evening. Good music and floor. “CUPID’S FIREMAN.” In adapting the story “Andy McGees Chorus Girl” by Richard Harding Davis for screen purposes the producer has called it “Cupid’s Fireman,” and dedicated it to firemen throughout the world. Charles Jones erstwhile player of Western parts, has the role of the bashful fireman detailed to stand watch in the wings of the theatre. llow he meets the girl of all girls, rescues her from death and overcomes the obstacle of a worthless husband, all go to make a terrific story of romance and action. Marian Nixon has the leading feminine part opposite Jones and a capable cast gives them admirable support. “The Income Tax Collector” a Sunshine Comedy and the latest Worlds' News complete the bill. Usual prices. Monday evening will witness the only Foxton screening of “The Gold Diggers.” adapted; from a highly successful stage play, and dealing in a diverting manner with the present day greed for money and wealth of some of our young people. Hope Hampton, Wyndham Standing and Louise Fazenda are the most prominent names in a big cast of characters.
ROYAL PICTURES. A college boy whose escapades with a racing automobile almost landed him in jail, and who joined a “wild west” show for more thrills —this is the part played by Hoot Gibson in his latest Universal special production, “The Sawdust Trail," to be screened at the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. The picture is replete with thrills, and a pretty romance and a good deal of comedy embellish the swift moving story. Josie • Sedgwick is the heroine. “The Eternal City,” to be screened on Saturday night, is a story by Sir Hull Caine; produced by George Filzmaurice, and enacted by a east which includes Barbara La Man*, Lionel Barrymore, Bert Lytell, Richard Bennett and Montague Love. One of the most gripping romances ever created. Come and see vast mobs sweeping through the streets of Rome, and filling the ruins of the mammoth Coliseum, the structure figuring so largely in the history of Caesar’s time. Comedy, “Snookey’s Treasure Island.” MOUTOA ASSEMBLY DANCE. Another of the enjoyable dances, organised by the Hall Committee will be held tomorrow evening. Music of the best is promised and patrons arc assured of a good time. A*. Wall’s lorry will leave the Foxlou Post Office at 7.30 p.m. for the convenience of Foxton patrons.
