SHIPPING DISPUTES.

KONA STILL HELD UP. Auckland, Last Night. Tin- dispute over the discharge of sugar cargo from the steamer Kona is unsettled, and the vessel was ngain idle. A call was made this morning for about two hundred men to discharge the Kona and stack sugar in store, but only 30 responded, and any attempt to work the ship was abandoned. Union officials state that the men are willing to work if the two men concerned, are employed. The stevedore will not comply with the demand and it is soubtful how the matter will be settled. GISBORNE ARGUMENT GOES TO WELLINGTON. Gisborne, Last Night. At a meeting of the local disputes committee concerning the Karpri coal dispute, in which the men demanded an extra twopence an hour, it was decided to refer the tiouhle to the National Disputes Committee, Wellington.
