BORSTAL INSTITUTE.
TO BE ESTABLISHED AT WAIKARE. Auckland, Alarch 21. The Hon. Sir James Parr, Minister for Justice, states that it has been decided to establish a Borstal Institute for the North Island at Waikare, on the site of the prison camp, which it is proposed to movet o near Tokaanu. At tlie Waikare there is a fine building, and thousands of' acres of land to bring into cultivation. The prisoners now at Waikare will be removed, and “reforuiatives” will also be transferred. The Borstal Institute at Waikare will accommodate from 80 to 100.
