ST. PATRICK’S BALL.
The iiinme l ball, held under the auspices of SI. Mary’s Church, was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday night. The ha'll was beautifully decorated with greenery and green and white streamers, and presented a delightful appearance as the happy dancers thronged the floor. About 100 couples were present, visitors having come from Palmerston North, Marton, Levin, Feilding and surrounding districts and the charming frocks ,of the ladies presented a picture pleasing to the eye. Splendid music was discoursed by - Larkin’s full jazz orchestra, extras being played by Mrs Dunn, Misses Delany, and others. Messrs S. Dudson and J. Dunn ably officiated as M’s.C. An enjoyable supper was dispensed by a 'ladies’ committee consisting of Mesdames Delany, Desmond, Hynes, Richmond, Griffin, Smith (2) and Purcell and Misses Neylon, O’Leary, Bowe and the energetic secretary Miss M. Desmond.
Dancing was continued till an early hour, several novelty dances being included on the programme.
