BOROUGH COUNCIL.
SPECIAL MEETING. j At last night's special meeting of I lilt Borough Council, the Town Clerk pointed our that the next regular monthly meeting of the Council fell on Easter Monday and sug-gc.-ied that tlie next meeting date he fixed fur tiie 20th April. This was . viced to. and by unanimous consent of those present the following business w;s then transacted:— It was decided that the grass he mowed in Easton Park if same could lie done for t lie sum of £2 10/-. Mr E. ■). Murphy was appointed examinin' of applicants for motor driver's license ar a remuneration 1 - per license. CORRESPONDENCE, was read and dealt with as follows: Prom the Beautifying Society asking that the Council asphalt a footpath across the courthouse section. —Decided that owing to the ground not being vested in the Council. the Council tinds it cannot legally undertake the work and is reIticiautly compelled to decline the a ppiica t ion. From the Foxtou llockey Club, asking that the Council put Victoria Park itt order by removing the remaining portion of the old cycle track and taking up the cricket pitch.-—-Referred to the Works Committee with power to act. the pitch not to be removed. From the Foxtou Croquet Club, asking the Council for 30 yards of spoil for top dressing their green. — Referred to neighbouring farmers, as the Couueil has no spoil suitable for top dressing.
