MAGISTRATE HONOURED.
Wellington, Last Night. A large gathering of members of (he Justices of the Peace Association assembled to-day to say farewell to Mr E. Page, S.AL, who is about to leave on a trip to England. Mr R. D. Hanlon presided. Air I, Salek, Registrar of the Justices of the Peace Association, said Air Page had worked very hard and thoroughly deserved bis trip. Air Page was presented with a pair of prisnt field glasses. Air Page, after thanking those present for their good wishes, said he looked forward to his trip with pleasure and to the Prisons Conference he would attend. The conference would consider prison administration and refornij and tlie question of punishment. He. hoped to bring back some useful suggestions. Messrs Riddell and Cooper, S.M.’s added their testimony.
