THE CONTINENTAL SABBATH
FAMOUS JOCKEY IN PULPIT. Paris, March 9th. Jack Jennings, who headed the winning jockey list for France in 1914, and rode the second horse in the Ascot Gold Cup, appeared in a.,, new role yesterday, when, dressed in a surplice, he preached in the English Protestant Church at Maisini Labile, the racing suburb, denouncing Sunday racing and the devotion of the Sabbath almost exclusively to recreation and amusement. Simultaneously a prominent Dominican preaching in another suburb, advocated that tlie rising generation should devote Sunday afternoon to open-air life and sports.
