INFANTILE PARALYSIS.

One mild case, a two-year-old girl, was admitted to hospital yesterday from Palmerston N., and one patient was discharged. The medical superintendent rcporleil last evening that the majority of the patients, of which there were 42, will be completely cured, hut although there are no inmates in a critical position, several of them will be left, with a little deformity. Nino fresh cases have been notified in the 24 hours ended noon to-day. For all cases of infantile paralysis, six weeks’ isolation is prescribed. This morning six children who have fulfilled the requirement and who show no paralysis or muscular weakness, were discharged from the Christchurch hospital. They are the first batch to leave hospital as cured since the epidemic began to sweep over the district. Master!on, Last Nigt. A ease of infantile paralysis from Eketahuna was reported to-day-—a girl aged 3. She was admitted to the Masterton hospital.
