FOXTON LADIES’ HOCKEY CLUB.

A very well attended meeting of intending members of the proposed hockey club was held in Perreau’s rooms on Thursday evening. Mr M. Perreau was voted to the chair. On opening the meeting, he said the 1 urination of a. club was a very good move and lie was pleased to see such ,-m enthusiastic gathering. A motion was then put to the meeting and carried "that a hockey club be forced. to lie called the Foxton Hockey Cluli”. ITornhlow and F. Woods; secretary and treasurer: Miss E. Owen; captain: Miss W. Walls; vice-captain: Miss E. Patterson: c-onnnittee: Mpsdann-s D. R. Barron and D. Ball. Misses J. McMmray. E. Patterson, R. Perreau, and R. Barber; selection eommitt«e;J Mrs Barron and Messrs Walton and McMurrav.

The amount of subscription was tixed at 5/- for members and honorary members, reducible where more than one player in a family. It was decided to make application to tlie Council for the use of Victoria Hark as a playing ground. Mr MoMurray offered to give any assistance possible to get the ground in order. The matter of uniforms was held ~ver, pending receipt, of information re colours from the Manawatu and II o row henna Associations. The secretary was instructed to write to the Ilorowlieuua and Mannwatu Associations re affiliation! The iirst practice day will be de- » ided at a general meeting to be held mx! week.

Messrs Walton and McMurray have offered to coach the team and .Ur E. Woods has ottered his services as referee. It was decided to have both Wednesday and Saturday teams. Intending members are requested to hand their names to the secretary. 1 he mceLtng closed with a vote of thanks io the chair.
