LEVIN HIGH SCHOOL.
Sir James Parr (Minister for Education) accompanied by Mr J. Linklat.er, M.P., visited Levin on Friday to discuss matters with the l.evin District High School Committee re the establishment, of a High School to replace the District High School. In reply to the deputation the Minister paid a tribute to the excellence of the local district high school and the value of district high schools generally, but admitted the justice of Levin’s claim as the natural centre to a high school proper. He asked the local Educational Conference to take into consideration as a matter ot practical politics during the coming year the selection of a site and also what assistance would be likely to be received from local residents towards the school. If they came to him, about April ot that year he would then see what could he done in that financial year.
The reply was generally regarden by the deputation as being satisfactory, it being realised that .the obtaining of such an institution is usually a long process.
