Patrons are assured of an enjoyable 1 ime. ROYAL PICTURES. To-night patrons of the Royal Tliealie will be given .something out "i the ordinary in “Black Oxen,” a wonderful story from the pen of Gertrude Atherton. Coriime Griffith and Conway Tearle share the I'ealured parts in this picture. Miss Griffiths plays a dual role, that of Mary Ogden, and later that of Madame Zalianny, and Mr Tearle is cast as Lee Clavering, a cynical New York newspaper man who falls iu love with the charming European bred American girl, Clara Bow. But come along to-night and see for yourself. It is one of the most entertaining and interesting pictures of the season. Do you wish to blot out for a while the everyday facts of life and tread the golden path of adventure —utterly banishing the outside world and its cares in the thrills of romance? Then sec Zune Grey’s wonderful drama entitled “Riders of the Dawn,” to be screened on Monday night. The picture is by Selznick and the cast is an excellent one.
“THE VENGEANCE OF PIERRE” "The Vengeance of Pierre," starring Lester Cuneo, which heads the programme at the Town Hall tonight. is a great mother love story without a mother in it. The hero is a big man of brawn, who fights his way with his lists and is looked upon as a hard hearted man. The tenderness of his heart is revealed by the fact that he makes the hidden grave of his mother his sanctuary. Francelia Billiiigton is the chief supporting artist. Al. fet. John, the cycling comedian, will he seen in “His Bitter Half,” whilst the World’s News will supply a wide diversify of Topical items ranging from the Religious Festival of Joan of Are, France, to the Kentucky Derby iu America. Prices as usual. Patrons on Monday should be well pleased with Ralph Connor’s great lumber yarn, “The Man Prom Glengarry.” probably the finest outdoor picture produced in 1924. Monday’s supporting films are extra strong and include the first Snub Pollard comedy, “Where Am I?” Dr Gunn’s health camp at Turakina and the latest Patlie Gazette also. Prices as usual.
