LEVIN’S NEW MUNICIPAL BUILDINGS.
Levin’s new municipal buildings, v. h«‘ii completed, will not only compare with the best in any provincial (own in the Dominion, but will be an ornament to the town and a striking example of civic progress and faith in the future of the. town’s growth and prosperity. Those responsible had to contend against, opposition from a certain section, .but they won through and posterity will acclaim their foresight. The block, when completed, will cost £25,000,* and will be revenue-pro-ducing, which will minimise the repayment of capital cost to the ratepayers. Well-appointed suites of rooms will be provided sor the Borough Council, Horowhenua County Council and Ilofowlicnua Power Bocrd. The public theatre will have a seating accommodation for 1,000 jicrsons, and the lighting, ventilaton, appointments and acoustic properties will he on modern lines. We congratulate our neighbouring town on its enterprise.
