Levin’s new municipal buildings, v. h«‘ii completed, will not only compare with the best in any provincial (own in the Dominion, but will be an ornament to the town and a striking example of civic progress and faith in the future of the. town’s growth and prosperity. Those responsible had to contend against, opposition from a certain section, .but they won through and posterity will acclaim their foresight. The block, when completed, will cost £25,000,* and will be revenue-pro-ducing, which will minimise the repayment of capital cost to the ratepayers. The public theatre will have a seating accommodation for 1,000 jicrsons, and the lighting, ventilaton, appointments and acoustic properties will he on modern lines. We congratulate our neighbouring town on its enterprise.
