S.M. COURT.
The monthly silting- of the S.M. Court was held yesterday before Mr •J. L Stout, S.M. U BY-LAW CASES. Charles Robinson, for tethering a horse within the borough (two charges) was fined 10/ on the first charge and £1 in the second, each with costs 7/-. Joseph Parker, for allowing cows to wander within the borough, and also on tlie Manawatu County roads, was fined £1 on each charge, with costs amounting to 16/- in all. Fred Aiden, for al-lowing-cows to wander on county roads was fined £l, with costs 9/-. H. A. Jeffries, on a charge of tethering a horse on the Himatangi-Pal-merston N. road was fined 5/-, with costs 15/-. E. W. Thompson, on a similar charge was fined 5/- with costs 15/-. In the,above cases Mr W. Neville conducted the eases on behalf of the Borough Council and Mi- Berry those in connection with the Manawatu County Council. CIVIL CASES. Judgment was entered for plaintiff by default in the following civil cases: —G. T. Woodroofe v. J. Merrit, claim £4 15/-, costs 16/-, Smith an.d Starkie v. Richard Dyas, claim £3 5/-, costs 16/-.
