NAPIER WOOL SALE.
Napier, Last Niglit. The fourth Napier wool sale of the season was held to-day, when 20,000 bales were offered to the uspal bench of buyers. Bidding was spirited and of a broader nature than at Wanganui. For bright and * well-known wool, there was quite a good demand, but when inferior and seedy sorts came forward, competition was erratic. Lambs’ wood was generally neglected, except certain lots which specially suited buyers requirements. France usually has been a competitor for lambs’ wool, and possibly the collapse of the franc had an influence on that class of wool. German buyers operated strongly for good pieces and bellies. The bulk of the offering went ■ as usual to Bradford. America took little compared with last Napier sale. Prices declined two-pence to three-pence for good wools and 4d for inferior and faulty. Prices show an improvement •of about a halfpenny on the Wanganui sale. The range of prices was not available to-night.
