OBITUARY.
MV Alt'. Drew passed away at Sanson on Friday at the residence of his son. Mr A. K. Drew. Deceased was a well-known business man on Ibis coast. He was horn in (ho Isle of Wight in 1840. He came to Australia in 18o(>, and four years later crossed to (his Dominion, .settling lirsi in Nelson and afterwards in Wanganui, in which two towns lie received his education. In .1872 he joined his brother, the late Mr S. 11. Drew, in business in Wanganui; and was associated with that old and well-known jewellery establishment for some time. Later he removed to New Plymouth where he entered into biisinss on his own account, finally removing to Palmerston N. in 188(i. During his long residence there, Mr Alt'. Drew was associated with many public bodies. lie was a foundation member of the P.N. Bowling Club and its tirst secretary, and in recognition of bis services be was acorded the honour of life membership. During the last four years lie had resided at Whangarei. His health failing, lie came south to •Bauson. During the last two or three months he had suffered considerably. Four sons and three daughters are left to mourn their loss —-Mr H. T. B. Drew, of the N.Z. Publicity Office, at present in London; Mr- A. K. Drew, clerk to the Manuwatu County Council; Messrs C. Y. and S. N. Drew, of Dannevirke; Mrs G. Woolley, of Whangarei; Mrs H. Griffiths; and Miss Drew, of Whangarei.
