THE EPIDEMIC.
WEEK-END NOTIFICATIONS. Three eases' of infantile paralysis were reported in Wellington City during the 48 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday—from Miramar, KiTbirnie and Brougham St. respectively. The notifications for the Wellington Health District during the same period were eight, the other cases being reported from Patea (1), Nelson (1), and Wanganui (3). Four cases occurred in Auckland, eight in Canterbury, and one in Alexandria, Otago. The total for the week-end was tlms 21 cases. There was only one notification of infantile paralysis reported to the Palmerston N. Hospital yesterday. The patient was a girl aged 14 years from Levin. She is not in a very serious condition. Two patients were discharged from the hospital yesterday. Timaru, Last Night. Three cases of infantile paralysis were reported in South Canterbury to-day, a boy of 12 years in Timaru and two cases from the country, a man and a boy of 6 years from, Sutherlands. Dunedin, Last Night. A definite ease of infantile paralysis, a girl of 11 years old, was admitted to hospital to-day. Dr. Craw*luiw, District. Health Officer, received a voluntary offer to-day from a patient of the 1916 outbreak of blood for transfusion.
A suspected case of infantile paralysis, a girl of about ten years, was removed from Mornington toduy to the hospital. New Plymouth, Last Night. Two cases of infantile paralysis were admitted to the New Plymouth hospital, the victims being two girls aged two years and three and a- , f years, both t>£ the same family, residing at Waitara. This makes three eases in the local hospital, the oilier being from Awakino.
