BOWLING.

A vorv enjoyable afternoon was spent on the local green yesterday, when four rinks from Levin paid a friendly visit. The conditions for play were very favourable, with the exception of a, slight breeze, which made the bias somewhat uncertain at times on the fast green. Levin: Lamb, Lawry, V Litton, Pyke (s), 22; Foxton: Ross, Wltibley, Pearson, Nye (s) 13. Foxton: Spring, Walton, Warwick Rooro (s), 1!); Levin: McDonald, Gibson, Andrews, Suhan (s), 15. Foxton : Mattar, Healey, Christie, Thomson (s), 26; Levin: Derham, Edwards, Casey, Sigley (s), 10. At the conclusion of play Mr A. N. Smith, in the absence of the President (Mr Barr) expressed pleasure on behalf of Foxton bowlers for the very enjoyable afternoon’s a. play that had been afforded by the presence of the Levin visitors, and said he hoped this visit would be the forerunner of many such visits. Mr Suhan, on behalf of Levin players, returned thanks, and extended an invitation to Foxton Club to pay a visit to Levin in the near future. NYE FERNS. A match for the Nye Ferns was played last evening between a rink skipped by Smith and the holders (Roore's rink). The game through nut was even and on the nineteenth head the scores stood 15 all. The twentieth head gave Roore a lead of three points, hut on the twentytirst head the challengers registered a full hand, making the score 20 —IS in favour of Smith. Challengers: Mattar, Walker, Nye.
