DECEMBER WORKING.
The amount of gas manufactured during the month of Deeenibek was -164,500 c.'ft., which, with The aniount in flic holder on December 1, 14,400 ft., made a total of 468,900 L. During the month 389,300 ft. was used by consumers, 3,500 ft. in street lamps, 26,000 ft. at the works and there was 15,300 ft. in the holder on January Ist., making a total of 434/000 'ft., and leaving 34,900 I t., representing 7.6 per cent., unaccounted for. Forty tons of coal was carbonised producing 10,328 ft. to the ton. Twelve tons of coke were produced-. Receipts for the month totalled £293 13/6 and were mane up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £73 8/9, heat and power £125 17/3, coke sales £29 19/3, tar sales £2B S/-, fittings £36 0/3, miscellaneous VThe expendithre for the month was made hp as follows: —Coal £llß 0/1, salaries and wages £4B, fittings £l4 19/10, engine repairs 11/9, repairs £2 3/2, cartage and freight 18/7, stores £1 14/7, horse 3/-, Interest and Sinking Fund '£s9 11/8, a total of £240 12/4. • GAS MANAGER’S REPORT. Everything at the works is working well and the apparatus is in fairly good order. Air Carey has not yet been able to resume his duties, so Mr Leaver is still carrying on with the stoking. During the month a start was made at painting the manager’s house, but this work is not quite completed. The consumption of gas was good during December. There is a good demand for coke.
