“LOVE LETTERS.” When a- girl is engaged to be married and some other man holds love letters written in her fair hand, something must be done. Something drastic and swift, if the merry marriage bells are to peal. Otherwise the bride might have to doff her veil and discard the orange blossoms. Which is a slightly different way of telling the theme of Shirley Mason’s latest picture, “Love Letters,” screening at the Town Hall on Saturday. In this delightful drama Miss Mason is supported by a fine cast headed by Gordon Edwards and William Irving. A 1 St. John comedy, “Highly Recommended,” and latest World’s News will also be screened. Prices as usual. For next Monday evening the big railroad lln'iller, “Westbound Limited,” has been secured for screening. Ralph Lewis plays an important part. The special attraction “Monsieur Beauc»iire,” featuring Rudolf Valentino has been definitely booked for screening next week. royal pictures. Pauline Frederick, famous Rob-erston-Colfi star, lias attained in her works that which many actois and actresses have laboured in vain -r— the distinction of being known as “a character player.” You will have an opportunity of seeing this famous player in “Salvage,” at the Royal Theatre to-mornow night. This is her latest Robertson-Cole production and she takes a dual vole in it, of two women, far removed from each other in character and socially, and she touches upon every shade of human emotion.
Most every girl has the secret ambition to see herself in man’s clothes. This opportunity was given to Dorothy Mackaill in “The Fighting Blade,” a First National picture appearing at the Royal on Saturday. Full of thrills and suspense and is a fine picture of the days when the ltoiuidheads and Cavaliers were at loggerheads. _
