YOUNG MAN’S DEATH.
The death occurred at Kuku on Friday, under sad circumstances, of a young man named Leonard Catley, youngest son of Mr G. P. Catley. Deceased was 24 years of age, and had been working on his father’s farm. As he did not come in for dinner search was made and the body was found, lying in some bush on the river bank. A doublebarrelled gun was lying alongside end there was a shot wound in the head. The District Coroner (Mi- T. Brown), held an inquest on Saturday, when the evidence showed that the young man had been seriously ill in November, and the illness had ifcft him in a despondent condition, though he had never at any time given reason to think he would take his own life. The Coroner, after hearing the evidence, returned a verdict that death was the result of a gunshot wound, self-inflicted, while in a state of unsound mind.
