CONFERENCE AT SHANNON TO-DAY. A conference of local bodies interested in the Shannon bridge over t,he Manawntn river, which was recently damaged by flood, together with representatives of the Main TT'ghway r s Board and No. 9 Main Highways District was held at Shannon to-day. The local bodies, represented are the Horowhenna and Manawatu County Councils and the Foxton and Shannon Boroughs. The Mayor (Mr •John Chrystall) and Cr. Alex Ross represented the Foxton borough. Mr F. W. Furkert, Engineer-in-Chjef to the Public Works and chairman of the Main Highways 80-, ard and Mr J. Hannah’, chairman of the No. 9 Main Highways District, were also presen^.
