BOWLING.

A game for the Nye Ferns was played yesterday afternoon between rinks arranged and skipped by W. Nye and A. N. Smith. The game was remarkable mostly for the fact, that Smith’s rink scored successively on the first five heads, gaining a lead of seven points befoe Nye had any score to hifc credit. However, at this stage the position began to ease for Nye’s team, and on the fourteenth head scores stood even at eleven. Stagnation again set in for Nye, and Smith reached 21 on the nineteenth head before his opponents registered any further points. Nye then scored three on the twentieth head and Smith one on the next, making the final scores Smith 22, Nye 14. Powell, Healey, Walker, Smith (s) 22; Walton, Huntley, Pearson, Nye (s), 14. J. 11. Downes has entered a challenge for next Wednesday.
