♦ PETER MOKO’S REPUDIATION. CALLS FORTH FRESH PROTESTS. Wanganui. Last Night. Responsible Maoris living at Jerusalem have written to Hie “Chronicle" expressing astonishment at Mr Peter Moko’s repudiation of the sentiments allegedly expressed by the Rat ana emissary at. Rotorua. They declare similar statements were made in their hearing at the Christmas gathering at Ratana and subsequently at meetings at Jerusalem. Maoris failing to sign the covenant were I old they would find themselves obliged to act against their own interests when the Japanese waged war mi Hie Maoris’ behalf.
