MOTOR REGISTRATION AND TYRE TAX.

Tn his opinion the Government had made a mistake in not imposing a tyre tax instead of the more costly administered registration arrangements. If a lyre tax were adopted (he revenue for the highways maintenance would he ten limes flint produced from registration and would he more equitable, lie said in making I hat statement lie was speaking against his own interests. But there il was: Those who used the road most would pay more in proportion.
