NAPIER WOOL SALE.
REST SORTS DOWN Id TO lid ON LAST SALE. Napier, Last Night. The third wool sale of the season in Napier was held to-dav when a catalogue of 25,169 bales was offered lo a. large bench of buyers. Competition was confined almost entirely to Bradford and the Continent, practically no competition coming from America, while very few New Zealand mills were able to operate and local fell-mongers were completely out of it. The sale showed that good wools were being neglected for lower grades. Good to super wools on which bidding was very slack and erratic, were down from Id lo lid on the last Napier sale, but as far as the lower grades were concerned they were from par (o a farthing better. Pieces, bellies and necks sold exceptionally well.
There was a good demand for high grade lambs’ wool, for which good prices were obtained although these were erratic on the other hand for second mid inferior lambs, it was very difficult, to make a sale. No official range of prices was alilahle to-night.
