FOXTON RACING CLUB.
FORTHCOMING MEETING
It looks as if the local race meet- • iiig, to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, 21st and 22nd insts., is going to be a record from every point of view. Even if there should be rain, the going is not materially affected as the track is of sandy foundation with well rolled turf and does not hold like so many other tracks after a downpour. The public, too, are not inconvenienced to any extent by showery weather and we don’t think a wet meeting need be anticipated—as shelter is afforded by the grove of pines from sun and rain. Along the hillside among the trees, hundreds of people are able to witness the races, from start to finish under picnic conditions. The club lias given special attention to the public appointments and the caretaker is to be complimented upon the splendid condition of the course. The local Citizens’ Band have been engaged to provide the music for both days and (he catering will he in.the hands of Dustins ; Ltd. WEIGHTS FOR ANNUAL MEETING. The following are the handicaps for the first day’s events of the Foxton Racing Club’s meeting, on 21 st inst.—POROUTAWHAO HACK HURDLES, of 160 sovs. One mile and a- : half and 100 yards. i
