TRIANGULAR- SHIELD CONTEST
The flnal round of the Triangular Shield contest was played at Shannon yesterday afternoon, and resulted in Levin being the holders for the ensuing twelve months. The aggregate scores for the three rounds are:—Levin 17 8 points, Foxton 149, „ Shannon 137. Of the games played yesterday Roore’s rink had a handsome win over their opponents, Murray’s rink, the final scores being 28 —10. In the game, Murray registered a single on the first head, and Roore jin the second counted in seven, which-gave Foxton a good start off for the game. Roore showed more of his old dash throughout the play than has been noticeable of late, and this accounted to a great extent for the margin between the dual scores. Smith, in his game against Quarrie, accumulated a lead of fourteen points to eight by the time the twelfth head had been played, but subsequently Quarrie evened things up, and on the sixteenth head scores stood even at 1(5 each. Smith wanted three to win on the final head, but only scored one, leaving Quarrie the victor by one point— Shannon 21, Foxton 20.
Harris, of Levin, left Gagliardi well behind right from the lead off, the scores ultimately being Harris 31, Gagliardi 9. In the game Spencer (Shannon) v.
