R EYNOLDS —BREWER. A wedding was solemnised at the local Registry Office on .Tuesday, 30th December, when Miss Evangeline Mary Brewer, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Brewer, of Avenue Road, Poxton, was united in matrimony to Mi-' Chester Gaynes Reynolds, of Wellington. The bride wore a dress of fawn morocain, and hat to match. Miss Bernice Brewer, sister of the bride, who officiated as bridesmaid, wore a dress of salmon pink art silk and black hat. Mr Arthur Brewer)'"brother of the bride, acted as best man. After the ceremony, the wedding breakfast was partaken of at the home of the bride’s parents, in the Avenue, where afterwards a service was held. Subsequently afternoon tea was served.

The bride and bridegroom left by oar en route for the south. The presents, which were numerous, included a handsome cheque from Messrs Ross, Rough and Co., and also one from Mr William Ross. The bride and bridegroom will take up their residence at Berhampore, Wellington. OSBORNE—BURLING. A pretty rainbow wedding of local and district interest was solemnised in All Saints’ Church, Foxton, on Mfednesday, 31st December, the Rev. W. H. Walton officiating. _ The contracting parties were Marjory Bertha, third daughter of Mr and Mrs G. A. Burling, of Oroua Downs and Charles Herbei t, oldest son of Mr and Mrs Osborne, of Glen Oroua. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a beautiful frock of ivory satin, trimmed with silver radium lace, wearing a tulle veil and train and orthodox orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of trumpet lillies, sweet peas, and asparagus fern. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Mary Burling, sister of the bride, wearing lavender satin with pink trimming and bouquet of pink sweet peas, and Moria Osborne, sister of the bridegroom, in pink satin and lavender trimming, and bouquet of lavender sweet peas. Little Clara Gates, niece of the bride, made a dainty trainbearer, in blue organdie. All maids wore 'veils. The brdegroom was attended by his brother, Alex, and Lionel Burling was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Oroua Downs Memorial Hall at which about. 150 guests were entertained to a sumptuous repast, where the usual toasts were honoured. Air Walton proposed the toast of the bride and bridegroom, to which the bridegroom responded. The toast of the bridesmaids was proposed by Mr Lionel Burling, l'esponded to by the best man. The bride’s parents, by Mr Hammond, and the bi-idegroom’s parents Mr Wilson Scott, and l'esponded- to by Mr Burling and Air Osboi-ne respectively. An unusual toast was honoured, that of the grandmothers of the bi-ide and bridegroom, Alesdames Burling and Osborne. After the reception, the happy couple left by car for the north, where the honeymoon will be spent, the bride wearing a fawn gabardine coat frock, with hat to match. The bride’s mother wore a black silk frock, trimmed with Herat moi'ocain, and black hat and Airs Osborne: mother of the bridegroom, a brown costume, and Airs Bulling senr., a black merve silk dress and black bat. The couple were the recipients of a large number of costly presents. A dance was held in the evening, at which a large number of friends and relatives were

present. On Saturday evening, 27th December, a kitchen tea was given, to Miss Marjory Burling, at which a large number of useful articles were received, showing the esteem in which the .guest of the evening was held. H< > R NBLOW—BEESTON. The wedding took place at the Presbyterian Manse, Foxton, on New Year’s morning, of Mr C, W. . Hornblow, late of Taranaki, andriH Mrs Beeston, of Foxton. The Rev. J Frank McDonald officiated. ■
