BOWLING
On Christmas Day, a pairs tournament was held on the local greeh when the following took part: — Powell and Roore, AViiistanley and J. M. Thomson, Whiblev and Walls, Mattar and Barr, Jas. Ross and Huntley, Head and R. Thompson. The following were the results of play:—Winstanlev and J. Ml Thomson 3 wins, Head and R. Thompson 2 wans, Mattar and Barr 2 wins, Wihibley and Walls 1 win, Powell and Roore 1 win, Jas. Ross and Huntley 3 losses. Winstanley and Thomson were therefore the winners, and Mattar and Barr played off for second place with Head and R. Thompson (three heads). Thompson scored two on the .first, head,--a .tie occurred on the second and on the finakhead Barr scored one, leaving Thompson and his partner the honours of second place. On Boxing Day another pairs tournament'was held, the draw producing the following partners:— Whiblev and Roore (scr.), Powell and Jno. Ross (3), Jas. Ross and Huntley (3), Winstanley and Christie (scr.). The three rounds resulted: —JasT Ross and Huntley 2 wins,. Powell and Jno. Ross 2 wins, Whiblev and Roore 1 win, Winstanley and Christie 1 win. In the play-off (3 heads), Jas. Ross and Huntley scored on each succeeding head, which placed them first, Powell and Jno. Ross receive ing second honours. .
Levin Club suggests --January 7th or 14th as a suitable date for the final 'round of the Triangular Cons tesl; to he played At Shannon. Of the two dates mentioned. Shannon prefer the 7th, and it is therefore expected, that that date will be accepted by. the club’s interested. Bulls Club intend paying a visit to Foxton green at a near date. Definite arrangements will be made as soon as the date of the final of the Triangular is agreed upon;
