THE LATEST MAGAZINES
We have jest received the following latest magazines from the publishers (Messrs Gordon and Gotcli, Aust. Ltd.) : Hutchinson Magazine has entered upon®a new phase of its career, and is now an enlarged size, uniform with “Woman,” allowing more space for important articles and stories. The November issue, is a splendid publication. “The Mystery of the White Carnation,” by Baroness Orczy, is a London mystery as revealed by the old man in the corner. “Great Lovers,” Robert, Keable; “Dusk,” Andrew Soutar; “The Temple,” C. F. Benson; “The Red Lamp,” Edmond Snell, and numerous other stories of excellent merit, go to make this number one of the best.
Weldon’s Bazaar of Children’s Fashions.—The December number contains gratis patterns of girl’s school coat, 6 to 8 years, boy’s coat, hat and gaiters, 2 to 4 years, and girl’s dress, 14 to 16 years. Directions are given for knitting a child’s coat and hat and among other numerous items are styles for toddlers, children’s playtime page, cookery, dolly’s furniture and fashions, etc., too numerous to mention here. Procure your copy now. Weldon’s Ladies’ Journal. —The December number contains gratis patterns to make a smart wrap coat, and a distinctive tunic. A splendid supplement of Paris fashions; the gratis transfer shows some very pleasing designs for silk, chenille, beads or wool; another adventure of the Society dressmaker; all the newest wrap coats, short, long, threequarter length; Parisian coats and the latest overblouses and jumpers. This is one of the best issues yet of this popular magazine and we could go on ad. lib. outlining the different articles and items it contains. Make sure of your copy to-day. Cassell’s Magazine of November issue is just the thing for the holidays. This number contains a new story by Arnold Bennett. Herbert Gale contributes “Haven of Dreams,” Gilbert Frankau an interesting article entitled “Where Are Our Modern Girls Going To?” George Allen England, “The Mysterious Millionaire,” and numerous other interesting and entertaining stories are contributed by well-known auth - ors.
Adventure Magazine already holds a reputation for being a very interesting magazine and the November issue proves to be more so. You will read thrilling stories in this number by E.
