. In March last Mr Carmont report-, eh to the local police that a valuable racing saddle and bridle had been stolen from his stable in Johnston Street. The police made investigation but at the time could find no trace of the missing articles. Yesterday at Masterton a man was arrested and charged with the theft and will appear at the local court next Tuesday. The saddle and bridle have been recovered,
