MOUTQA SCHOOL
CONCERT AND PRIZE GIVING. There was a large attendance at the Moutoa Hall on Wednesday night oh the occasion of the annual school concert and prize-giving. The prizes were distributed by Mr Aitken, of Wanganui, and the children excelled themselves in the concetr programme, the arranging of which reflected credit upon Mr J. Aitken, headmaster. Father Christmas made his appearance and distributed toys to all the children. At. the conclusion supper was served after which dancing was indulged in. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Davey. The following was the programme:— Opening chorus, “Here we are Again,” song, “Sleepy Zuyder Zee,” Dimpie Campbell; song, “Gin-Chin Chinaman,” Selwyn Spring; recitation, “A Little Chap,” Rex Aitken; song, ’’Whistle it,” Nita Piggott; chorus, “John Brown’s Baby,” All; song, “Golliwog,” A. Gregory and E. Eder; song and chorus, “Silver Lining,” S. Spring; song, “Little Old Woman,” All; recitation: “How Would you Like to be a Baby?” Three little ones; song, “Oyncha San,” Muriel Prier; song, “Pal ’0 Mine,” Dimpie Campbell; song “Peggy O’Neil,” Minnie Lampp; song, “Roses and Poppies,” Nila Piggott; Maori song, Tommy and Tamara; song, “On the Road to Anywhere,” Mr Aitken; song, “Wynken, Blynken and Nod,” All; song, selected, Miss Arnold; recitation, “A ’Xmas Visitor,” Marie Trigged.
