ENTERTAINMENTS.

ROYAL PICTURES. If you want to learn the true history of Bob Gaunt, why he was falsely imprisoned and of the mystery adventure, and romance that came to him after his escape, don’t fail to see Harry Carey in “Desert Driven,” to be screened at the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. This is, unquestionably, Harry Carey’s greatest picture and the management takes pleasure in announcing it to the patrons of tlie Royal. Those who take delight in action, mingled with colour and good acting, will find all they desire in “The Bad Man,” a First National attraction to be shown on Saturday night. It is a drama of the. South-west, and it tells a story more complete and more thrilling than the usual motion picture. Perhaps the reason for this is that it is a literal translation of the stage play. Anyhow it’s real good, and don’t miss it. TOM MIX AT THE TOWN HALL. The favourite cowboy star, Torn Mix, and his marvellous human horse, Tony, are to appear in a somewhat unusual story at the Town Hall on Saturday night in “Ladies to Board,” in which Tom inherits an old ladies home. With the help of a cowboy mate and Tony he is forced to shoulder the management of the particular old souls. Also a Sunshine comedy, “A Waiter’s Wasted Life,” and the latest World’s News. Prices remain as usual. A week of specially selected pictures opens on Monday next with “Queen of the Moulin Rouge,” a big drama featuring the late Martha Mansfield. Following on are Thomas Meiglian in “The Confidence Man,” Tom Mix in “The Lone Star Ranger,” and John Gilbert in “A Man’s Mate.”
