ENTERTAINMENTS.

"THE VAGABOND TRAIL.” “The Vagabond Trail,” leading picture in a good jjrogramme at the Town Hall to-night, is the story of Donnegan, a red-headed hobo who was redeemed through love for a girl. It is full of tense, dramatic interest, and contains'mueh action as well as considerable humour. Charles (Buck) Jones plays Donnegan, with Marion Nixon in the leading feminine role. To-night’s supporting films are excellent, pride of place being taken by the three.monkey comedians, Max, Pep und Moritz, in “On the Job." The World’s News includes such items as “The Calcutta Cup race meeting,” Canadian fancy divers, Sandhurst Military School aud a thrilling 250 mile motor race in California. Prices as usual. On Monday evening “Love in a Harem,” a picture of striking prominence, not from the dramatic value hut because it is filmed in natural colours throughout, will be offered. It will be supported by a good programme, including “Blazes,” comedy and Trout Hatching in N.S.W., and the latest Pathe Gazette. Prices 1/and 1/9, children 3d and fid. ROYAL PICTURES. A man and a girl were sitting on a lawn. The man, a lawyer whose sight was impaired, was listening intently as his fiancee read the newspapers to him. Suddenly she stopped abruptly, and lie .sensed that she had been startled. But iu a moment she had regained control of herself and continued her task. And the man was unaware that the girl had come across a story which connected her name —innocently—with an illicit love scandal. This is one of the dramatic highlights in “The Scarlet Lily,” a First National picture produced by B. P. Schulberg, and to be screened at the Royal Theatre tonight. Also two corking comedies, “Kinky,” and “West is West.” One of the most interesting features in the Selznick picture “The Last Hour,” which is to be shown on Alonday night is a clever escape managed by several law violaters, who are shown as just having been caught by the police. An excellent dramatic picture, full of tense mffments.
