THE QUEEN CARNIVAL.

ALTHOUGH llie Band Carnival effort has not reached the objective aimed at by the Executive, to raise .CI,OOO to thoroughly cipiip the Band, il has, nevertheless, done remarkably well to come within about £2OO of the sum mentioned—that is when all expenses are paid. The amount so far accounted for totals over £BOO and there are still certain sums to come in. Trustees have been appointed to act in conjunction with the Band executive to administer the fund. A special word of praise is due to the various committees who have worked ,su self-sacriiic-ingly together with the young ladies who offered themselves as queen candidates. To the organiser and all concerned, we tender hearty congratulations.
